There are as many PhD trajectories as there are PhD candidates. Within the same institution, experiences vary according to countless factors including research topics and methodologies, funding schemes, timeframes, teaching responsibilities, and supervisory teams. Across variations, however, the PhD trajectory is meant to be both challenging and rewarding.
How to make sure that the challenges remain doable, and the rewards reachable? How to prevent threats to the viability of PhD projects and, most importantly, to the well-being of PhD students?
Guided by these questions, keynote speaker Dr. Andrea Kis will share with us the main results and recommendations from her project “Leaving Academia.” Her presentation will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with PhD representatives and supervisors associated with the Erasmus Graduate School of Social Sciences and the Humanities (EGSH).
