Over the past couple of years, the H2020 PROSPECT community gathered more than 140 participant cities, regions and energy agencies in 28 countries, which became mentors and mentees on innovative financing. Over the summer, the peer-to-peer learning programme got extended with a 4th learning cycle.
This cycle will start in November and mentors have already been recruited. The call for mentors that happened over the summer resulted in applications from 20 cities from 13 European countries. Most candidates applied as mentors for "Energy Performance Contracting" and "Citizen and community financing".
If you apply as a mentee, you could learn from the city of Paris, which will share its 4-year experience in implementing and managing green bonds for climate and social projects or from the French city of Albertville, which has launched an initial 130k€ intracting fund earlier this year, largely inspired by the long experience of Stuttgart in Germany.
What else can you learn about? Other innovative financing mechanisms like energy savings certificates, local economic and fiscal incentives, third-party financing (including the negotiation and partnership aspects), and different kinds of projects pooling and of public and private funds bundling, will be presented by experienced mentors and covering the 5 PROSPECT thematic modules: Private and Public buildings (including social housing for this edition), Public lighting, Transport (including e-mobility and traffic calming) and Cross-sectoral (mainly the production of renewables or multi-sectoral projects).
Interested in joining PROSPECT peer-to-peer learning activities as a mentee city, region or energy agency?
Now is the last week when you can still apply as a mentee. We welcome your application until the 4th of October 2019 at https://h2020prospect.eu/get-involved
