Mariya Khan

Mariya Nadeem Khan is the Academic Assistant within the Urban Socio-Spatial Development department at IHS. She is a graduate of Development Studies from the International Institute of Social Studies and has a Bachelor’s in International Relations from Leiden University, with a minor in Law and Economics from the University of Amsterdam. 

She has previously worked in human rights advocacy, research, and teaching. Her academic research builds on violence, nationalism, labour laws and social movements in South Asia and the GCC. Her other areas of interest include non-western historiography, alternatives to the capitalist world economy, Global South literature and Urban studies.
