Dr Alberto Gianoli is an economist and management specialist who works as a researcher and consultant at Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands. His main areas of expertise and interest include environmental economics and environmental finance, climate change adaptation and mitigation, green transitions, circular economy, environment and infrastructure, ecosystem services, decision-making analysis (cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analysis, multi-criteria decision-making), data analysis (statistics, econometrics, machine learning), monitoring and evaluation, and impact studies. He has completed a wide range of research and consultancy assignments and has held various positions, including project coordinator, team leader, senior technical advisor, principal researcher and trainer. He has carried out assignments for the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Commission, United Nations (UNDP, UNEP, UN-HABITAT), OSCE and several national, regional and local governments worldwide. He has working experience in a number of countries, including Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Kosovo, Romania, South Africa, Namibia, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Philippines, Bangladesh, Colombia and Curacao.
