Ramiro ten Bras
Academic Assistant
Ramiro ten Bras is an Academic Assistant who joined IHS after completing the institute's MSc in Urban Management and Development. He earned his bachelor's degree in Architecture, Urbanism, and the Built Environment from TU Delft. His thesis focused on developing tactical urbanism interventions, examining the intersection of governance, mobility, policy implementation, and urbanism. He believes in the value of approaching urbanism from multiple perspectives rather than solely from a technical design standpoint.
During his time at IHS, Ramiro will assist in collecting and analysing data on the trajectories of urban redevelopment in brownfields and inner cities. This research aims to expand the dataset by incorporating case studies from the Netherlands and Belgium (Flanders) to create a comprehensive European dataset. The research project, TRACX, will employ qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) to evaluate the data. With a firm understanding of the urban context, he will help construct the development trajectory using QCA techniques.
